The Week

Ibiza runs from late April to mid-October. Six months, three distinct phases, and a social calendar that requires planning six months before you arrive. The opening weekend, the peak summer weeks in July and August, and the closing parties in October each offer a completely different version of the island. Which one you come for determines everything else.

Fly Direct to IBZ

Ch. 01The Arrival

Fly Direct to IBZ

Ibiza Airport receives direct flights from most major European cities throughout the season. Private aviation uses the same terminal, with ground handling through Ibiza Airport's FBO. Cap Martinet and the hills above Ibiza Town are the villa zones worth positioning in, close to the marina, Pacha, and Lio, with sea views over Formentera on a clear day. Cala Jondal in the south suits groups anchoring a boat and running between Blue Marlin and Es Cavallet. Book the villa before you book the flight. The good ones go in January.

IMS Weekend, Late April

Ch. 02The Opening

IMS Weekend, Late April

The International Music Summit takes place in late April and the opening parties follow immediately across the same weekend. Pacha, Hi Ibiza, Ushuaia, and Amnesia all open within days of each other in the final week of April. Amnesia celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2026. The opening weekend crowd is smaller, younger, and more serious about music than peak summer. The island feels alive without feeling overrun. Five nights centred around the IMS weekend covers all four openings with recovery time in between.

Blue Marlin or El Chiringuito

Ch. 03The Beach Club

Blue Marlin or El Chiringuito

Two beach clubs, two completely different versions of the island. Blue Marlin at Cala Jondal is the superyacht crowd, fashion shows, Champagne on the sand, DJs from 2pm until the light goes. The clientele is international, the tables are expensive, and it is exactly what it looks like. El Chiringuito at Es Cavallet is the alternative: smaller, quieter, better food, preferred by people who know the island well. Organic menu, Es Cavallet beach, a crowd that arrives by boat and stays for the afternoon. Book both at least two weeks ahead in July and August.

Formentera by Boat

Ch. 04The Water

Formentera by Boat

Formentera is thirty-five to forty minutes by scheduled ferry from Ibiza Town, or around fifteen by fast private tender. The island has no airport, almost no development, and water that reads closer to the Caribbean than the Mediterranean. Las Salinas beach on the Ibiza side and Ses Illetes on the Formentera side are the two anchor points. A day charter that runs Ibiza marina to Ses Illetes and back, with lunch anchored in the bay, is the best single day the archipelago offers. Book through the marina in Ibiza Town. Late June and early September have the same water and a fraction of the August crowd.

Lio and Cipriani

Ch. 05The Dinner

Lio and Cipriani

Lio is at Marina Botafoch, directly across the water from Ibiza Town. Cabaret dining, live performances, a room that runs from dinner into the early hours. It is the most theatrical dining experience on the island and the booking that requires the most lead time. six to eight weeks in July and August. Cipriani is across the marina, quieter, more consistent, the better food. Both require jackets after 9pm. For something off the radar: Sa Calma in Ibiza Town's port area, small, no performance, excellent fish.

Ushuaia, DC10, UNVRS

Ch. 06The Clubs

Ushuaia, DC10, UNVRS

Three rooms, three completely different nights. Ushuaia is open-air, daytime into evening, the biggest production on the island, the crowd that wants to be seen. DC10 is the opposite: three rooms, red spotlights, no VIP culture, planes from the adjacent airport flying overhead every twenty minutes. Circoloco on Mondays at DC10 is the most credible party on the island and has been for twenty years. UNVRS is the newest room, arena-scale production, Carl Cox and David Guetta residencies through the summer. None of them start before 11pm. All of them go until sunrise.

October. The Real Goodbye.

Ch. 07The Closing

October. The Real Goodbye.

The closing parties in October are the season's best-kept secret. The crowds thin, the prices drop, the lineups get better because the DJs want to be there. Amnesia, Pacha, and Hi Ibiza all run closing weekends in the first two weeks of October. The island in early October has the same weather, the same water, and a version of the nightlife that feels closer to what Ibiza used to be. If you can only come once, come for a closing party weekend.
